Learning outcomes & description
DESCRIPTION
The aim of this module is to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to apply the EUAA structured method of Evidence and Risk Assessment in applications for international protection. The methodology is based on three core steps: gathering information, assessing credibility, and conducting risk assessment. It clarifies key concepts, legal standards and guiding principles under EU law, including the mutual obligations of applicants and authorities, and demonstrates how a structured approach addresses common challenges.
Learners develop practical skills to collect and link evidence to material facts, apply credibility indicators systematically, and recognise and mitigate factors that may distort assessment. They then identify relevant risks based on accepted facts, consider risk indicators, and reach conclusions using the appropriate standard of proof — a reasonable degree of likelihood.
